Campus Tour Guide
Position Overview: Campus Tour Guides are an integral part of the campus visit experience in the Office of Admissions for prospective students and families interested in attending CSP. Tour guides are responsible for positively representing CSP to our visitors, mainly prospective students and their families. Tour guides are expected to be knowledgeable about CSP, share their student experience, and represent the university with admiration and enthusiasm while providing the highest level of customer service. Tour guides are representatives of Concordia University both on and off-campus, as they contribute to an environment that upholds the mission and promise of the university.
If you love CSP and guiding guests around campus while sharing your experience and what CSP has to offer - you will love this job and connecting with our prospective families!
Campus tours are offered three times a day, year-round at the following times:
Campus Tour Times:
  • 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM
  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
  • 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Tour guides are expected to begin their shift 15 mins prior to the tour start time and stay 15-30 mins post the tour end time to accommodate long tour routes. (example: 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM, 11:45 AM - 1:15 PM, etc.)
Spring/Summer 2024 Event Dates:
Admissions has the following two significant Admitted Student Day events coming up. It's crucial for us to have a strong presence of tour guides during these events.
We encourage all tour guides to consider their availability for the following dates:
  • Friday, April 19, 2024: 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
  • Thursday, June 13, 2024: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Your participation during any timeframe within these hours would be greatly appreciated.
Essential Duties:
  • Lead walking tours (1-1.5 hours long) of campus to prospective students and families, community organizations, high school groups, counselors, alumni and more. Daily tour groups are often smaller (1-3 families per guide), however, group tours are often requested and maxed at 50 people.
  • Tour guides are responsible for being familiar with the full campus tour routes and maintain up to date knowledge of information included in training materials and training sessions.
  • Engage with prospective students and their guests by being a positive student role model demonstrating a high level of professionalism highlighting CSP in a good light.
  • Answer in-depth questions regarding the CSP experience from a student's perspective and general university facts (majors, housing, student life, etc.)
  • Participate in admission events by occasionally leading campus tours and sharing information regarding CSP and personal CSP experiences to better relate to prospective students.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as assisting with covering and answering phone calls at the front desk, mailing inventory items, organizing visit material, and other duties as assigned if a campus tour is canceled during your shift.
  • Additional duties may include: assisting with recruitment efforts, ad-hoc tours, such as promotional outreach videos and events, and operational tasks supporting our students.
