Position Summary

The Advice Letter analyst manages the Advice Letter submittal process for an assigned line of business, working with Regulatory Affairs Management to ensure accurate, consistent messaging with the CPUC and other stakeholders. The Advice Letter analyst interfaces with the internal partners, the CPUC, other California utilities, to communicate advice letter status, information, strategy or to assist with issue resolution and approval of pending advice letters.

The role is classified as hybrid (0-3 days per week in office), working primarily from your remote office and in-person in the Oakland General Office to attend team meetings or as business needs require.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $62,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $94,000.00

Responsibilities

  • Assists with all phases of the Advice Letter process. May lead process for routine Advice Letters.
  • Manages client expectations, communicates CPUC questions and approvals. Ensures filing deadlines are met.
  • Develops knowledge of regulatory environment with an emphasis on CPUC regulatory requirements applicable to advice letters and tariffs. Develops and maintains basic knowledge of tariff book contents and format.
  • Researches historical Advice Letters to support current case proceedings and strategy.
  • Reviews the Advice Letter, tariff changes, and other CPUC-related requests for consistency with CPUC protocol and past practices.
  • Assists senior level peers in advising leaders on advice letter tier assignment.
  • Reviews and summarizes Advice Letter related reports for management distribution and reporting purposes. Assists with Advice Letter service and record keeping.
  • Identifies and executes on opportunities for process improvement.
  • May assist senior peers with department training.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 0-1 or more years of related work experience

Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or related field
  • Regulatory, analytical, project management or communications related experience
  • Thorough understanding of the CPUC's General Order 96B and the CPUC Rules of Practice andProcedure
  • General knowledge of the utility/energy industry issues, trends and regulatory proceeding process
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills and project management skills
  • Public speaking and presentations abilities
