Description

Travel to the New Jersey and New York locations 25% of the time is required.

Position Summary:

The Quality Engineer will work in collaboration with the development team to ensure GNY business needs are reflected in the quality and usability of the Guidewire Cloud version of Policy Center, Billing Center, and Integrations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Hands on experience on designing and executing E2E Business scenarios and test cases across the Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and Integrations.
  • Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics and applying industry best practices.
  • Set up strategies to drive continuous efficiencies.
  • Analyze the Business requirements and Provide estimates for testing efforts.
  • Participate in daily sprint stand ups, plan for test Design, execution of stories, and epics.
  • Build test plans and approaches for time travel testing including the planning associated towards required environments.
  • Participate in business requirements reviews and provide feedback to developers.
  • Work with business towards test design, reviews, incorporating feedback, and results sign off.
  • Define test automation strategy towards meeting functional and non-functional requirements and drive the implementation.
  • Create and Maintain Test Automation Scripts using Guidewire GT UI, and API test. frameworks, or BDD Framework with Cucumber, or Java with Selenium test frameworks.
  • Identify the test dependencies well ahead and plan to meet them with right stakeholders involved in a timely manner.
  • Lead and manage QA team efforts and report directly to senior management.
  • Participate in key delivery ceremonies and ensure that the team successfully plans and executes towards required test outcomes.
  • Lead the end-to-end testing efforts for Guidewire applications, including planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop comprehensive test plans.
  • Perform manual testing as needed to validate complex business rules, workflows, and user interfaces across PolicyCenter, BillingCenter and Integration.
  • Report progress and manage test risks/ impediments.
  • Policy Migration-Post Migration experience.
  • Hands on Production support experience on Guidewire products.
  • Train and mentor junior team members.
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Analyst with Guidewire products and Insurance domain required.
  • Minimum of 3 full Guidewire implementation cycles required. Policy Center implementation experience required. Claims and Billing Center implementation experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with creating, maintaining, and running automation scripts driven by Guidewire GT UI, and API, or BDD Framework with Cucumber in Gherkin Language, or Java with Selenium test frameworks required.
  • Experience with tools like Jira, SharePoint, Git, Bitbucket, Rally, HP-ALM QC etc. required.
  • Basil SQL, MS-Access, and XML knowledge preferred.
  • Guidewire associate certification with V10 or Cloud Guidewire product preferred.
  • SAFe agile certification preferred.
Skills:
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to problem solve with strong attention to detail.
  • Experienced with Insurance domain and value chain across Policy, Claims and Billing and E2E program test implementations.
  • Knowledge of Guidewire Commercial lines of business - Property/Package, Commercial Auto, Excess, Workers' comp, General Liability, Umbrella, and other Commercial lines.
  • Test automation experience driven by Guidewire GT UI and API test frameworks or BDD Framework with Cucumber in Gherkin language, or Java with Selenium test frameworks.
  • Implementation experience in leveraging Gatling towards performance testing.
  • Experienced in planning, design, and Execution of time travel testing.
  • Experienced across multiple core integrations like, Document package, ImageRight, data warehouse, financial, Portal, rating, financial etc.
  • Understanding of GW branching and experience with associated automation suites management.
  • Experience in driving QE planning, design, and execution.
  • Implementation of quality gates through GW TeamCity CI/CD and associated tooling.
  • Understanding of test automation across test data, data platform, Guidewire, APIs, and non-functional testing.
  • Identify, prioritize, and report defects in JIRA and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in test planning, estimation, and risk assessment activities to ensure adequate test coverage and mitigate project risks.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and best practices to enhance overall testing efficiency and effectiveness.

The salary range for this role is$70,200 - $145,500. The listed annual salary range posted for this position is subject to change and may vary depending on performance, education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, demonstrated proficiency in the competencies required for the role and business needs. Base pay is just one component of GNY's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
