Description

  • Manages the work of assigned staff in the development, and organization of safety training, technical courses
  • Ensures training and services provided comply with statutory and regulatory requirements (OSHA, NFPA, and NESC) and are conducted in accordance with the organization's policies and industry best practices.
  • Manage AECI intrastate and interstate Mutual Aid and Storm Restoration efforts, manage AECI storm coordinators and must be available 24/7.
  • Assists with the development of training and educational material and ensures alignment with the requirements of ANSI Z490.1, Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health and Environmental Training.
  • Performs hazard identification and risk assessments and recommends appropriate engineering and/or administrative/procedural controls.
  • Participates in incident investigations, audits, inspections, and evaluations, as necessary.
  • Supports the NRECA Rural Electric Safety Achievement Program.
  • Supports the NRECA Rural Electric Safety Achievement Program (RESAP).
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
  • Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.
  • Acts as facilitator and/or lead investigator during significant incident investigations and noncompliance inquiries; assists with state and federal Occupational Safety and Health regulatory agencies inquiries.
  • Conducts and provides data and status of corrective actions for program audits.
  • Perform any other Safety or training-related duties for internal and member safety as required or assigned.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in High Voltage Line Worker Technology, Safety Management, or other related field, plus 8 years related experience and/or training, or 12 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Certified Loss Control Professional (CLCP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) (obtain within 3 years)
  • CPR Instructor (Obtain within 1 year)
  • Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer Designation, OSHA 500 or 501 (Obtain within 1 year).
  • Arkansas driver's license.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Line Worker Training Certification from a recognized source (Northwest Lineman College, T&D Power Skills, Southeast Lineman Training Center, or equivalent) Preferred CDL class A or B, Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
