General Responsibilities | This position will act as a liaison and develop effective strategies, relationships, and communications with faculty, staff, students, community groups, educational entities, and funding agencies to ensure equity and promote a culture of inclusiveness. Reporting to the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President, this position will lead the development and implementation of proactive equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives which will support the College's strategic plan. The Director will engage students, faculty, and staff to build a welcoming and inclusive culture at Howard Community College. The Director is responsible for designing training initiatives on cultural competency, gender differences, disability, sexual harassment, and other topics designed to increase awareness and support of equity and inclusion values and maintaining compliance with applicable laws. |

As a participating member of the Maryland Retirement and Pension System, HCC offers two retirement options: The Pension, which requires a 7% employee contribution and The ORP, a 403(b) with a 7.25% employer contribution only. Employees in positions that do not require a bachelor's degree must participate in The Pension. Employees that possess a bachelor's degree and hold professional positions that require a bachelor's degree may choose to participate in either The Pension or The ORP. |
