Process Planning executes the supply chain strategy ensuring that the right amount of the right type of product is produced in the right supply chain (U.S. and Asia).

For those products that are produced internally, the department ensures that all products are planned in such a way that they:

  • Are feasible to produce both technically and economically,
  • Achieve the desired artistic and quality requirements via established manufacturing processes,
  • Ensure the lowest total production cost,
  • While also meeting expected quantity and due date to meet customer expectations.

Process Planning works closely with section managers. engineers and operators to optimize production flows in the plant. Partners with creative, demand and inventory planning, litho, and procurement to deliver quality product on time.

In this role you will:

  • Create and maintain Bill of Materials and Routes for all materials produced in the Leavenworth facility.
  • Rectify and avoid production problems by possessing a thorough understanding of manufacturing capabilities and PPS, ARTS, MPPS, and SAP system knowledge.
  • Manage projects relative to changes in current processes and the development of new processes, raw material changes, stock usage, etc. Analyze gaps in process workflows, recommend procedures for improvement and initiate department documentation.
  • Develop/Update planning guidelines and standard pages that will ensure the production plan complies with current printing and manufacturing requirements. Develop expertise in all processes produced in the Leavenworth facility.
  • Provide communication and direction to other members within the Leavenworth Planning team to ensure consistent and effective execution. Provide training/guidance for new Process Planners, Production and Material Coordinators and Production Planners as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2 years experience in a supply chain role.
  • Experience working with LEAN principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Strong mathematical background.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound business decisions independently.
  • Experience with SAP, APO, ECC, MPPS, PPS, ARTS.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Ability to lead change, build relationships with customers, and negotiate appropriate solutions among a diverse constituent base.

This job will be located at our production facility in Lawrence , KS. Relocation assistance will not be provided.
