JOB DESIGNATION
* Production Supervisor interacts with all division functional area.
* Coordinates cross-function activities that may include any or all of the following: marketing sales, planning, design engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials, production and cost accounting as required to meet division goals for assigned product lines and/or services within the operation.
* Scope/ Supervision and Interaction: Production Supervisor will have direct reports.
* Works with minimal supervision. Works to complete specific objectives established by the Operations Manager.
* Empowers others to complete established objectives meeting profitability of the operation and division. Manages a variety of employees within product line responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Achieve operation objectives as relates to the leader's assigned product lines, services and team members.
* Staff and train members to achieve operation objectives through involvement in the hiring process.
* Uses judgment to resolve department problems and/or processes.
* Works closely with buyers/planners to schedule work force appropriately.
* Oversee work rules and policy application to ensure consistency and fairness.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Minimum requirement - an Associate's degree in engineering or business or higher

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
* 2-3 years previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Working knowledge of all business computer programs.
* Self-starter who takes initiative and responsibility and develops team.
* Dedicated to premier customer service.
* Ability to productively motivate employees in a nonunion environment.
* A substantial understanding of Lean principles (VSM, JIT, single piece flow, Kaizen, 5S)
