Kearney & Company is currently seeking an Air Force (AF) Financial Management (FM) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our DEAMS team to support the sustainment of the Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS). The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the Air Force Accounting Operations Center (AFAOC), interacting with the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, AF major commands, Space Force field commands, combatant commands, and bases in support of the worldwide sustainment and day-to-day operations in DEAMS. The candidate will provide a broad range of FM expertise including accounting and data analytics, and will assist project teams. The candidate will also develop and support applicable methodologies, tools, approaches, and points of view related to the DEAMS solution. The candidate should demonstrate solid technical and functional experience.

Additional skills and responsibilities are defined below:

  • Act as the initial AFAOC representative to HQ AFMC and AFMC DEAMS users
  • Support DEAMS users with FM questions
  • Help resolve DEAMS system-related process issues and guide users through functional processes impacted by the system
  • Provide analysis and problem resolution for fixes to reported problems
  • Provide targeted assistance to users based on DEAMS metrics, recurring critical task results, and results of other data analyses
  • Provide scheduled and ad hoc to DEAMS users via telephone, video-teleconference, webinar, or on-site visit, to include general training and functional problem areas
  • Facilitate and promote Strategic Communications/Change Management activities
  • Provide support to the AFAOC Help Desk - DEAMS, e.g., surge and end-of-year processes
  • Participate in DEAMS process improvement workshops identifying gaps and providing solutions to bridge gaps and enhance processes

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of Air Force financial management experience
  • Three years of direct DEAMS experience
  • Ability to perform basic analysis of financial and accounting data using Microsoft Excel, utilizing common functions, simple formulas, and pivot tables
  • The successful candidate must also be willing and able to travel as required or to support sustainment activities for their supported Command
  • Ability to brief and communicate effectively with senior leaders and managers
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. secret level security clearance (requires US Citizenship)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis of financial and accounting data using Microsoft Excel, utilizing advanced functions, complex formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, and Power Pivot
  • Ability to produce and deliver ad hoc or scheduled training in live demonstration, presentation, or recorded video format
  • Experience in AF Funds Control, Accounting, Financial Analysis, Accounts Payable, Government Purchase Card, Reimbursements, or Defense Finance and Accounting Service
  • Knowledge of AF legacy systems such as the Integrated Accounts Payable System (IAPS), Standard Base Supply System (SBSS), Standard Materiel Accounting System (SMAS), General Accounting and Finance System (GAFS), Reserve Travel System (RTS), Automated Business Service System (ABSS), Commander's Resource Integration System (CRIS), and Intra-governmental Payment and Collection (IPAC)
  • Experience producing and interpreting reports such as Status of Fund (SOF), Open Document Listing (ODL), Selective Transaction History (STH), Outstanding Travel Orders and Advances, and Cash Balancing
