Job Description

ChampionX has an immediate need for a Shop Technician located in Hobbs, New Mexico. This is your opportunity to join a growing company offering a competitive base salary and benefits.

What You Will Do:

  • Assemble and repair products such as pumps and motors, following defined work instructions, and using hand and power tools in a workshop environment. Occasionally, pick up and deliver parts and tools from local vendors or to Field Service Technicians at customer locations.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • This safety-sensitive role may be subject to employer or customer drug testing
  • Prior experience using hand and power tools
  • Prior experience driving a fork lift
  • Valid drivers license
  • Immigration sponsorship not offered for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of pumps and motors used in the oilfield services industry
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics

Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes and safety glasses
  • May stand, walk, stoop, sit, bend, twist, grasp, lift, climb,
  • Requires visual and hearing acuity

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily occurs in a heated and air-conditioned manufacturing environment
  • Hazards include proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current or exposure to chemicals
  • Atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system or skin may include fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
  • Potential skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids
  • Must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays as required
