The Job
Mia is seeking a Website Content Manager who will play a key role in curating, creating, and maintaining the content on our website. This position requires a blend of creative and technical skills to enhance the museum's online presence, engage our audience, and support the overall mission of the institution.
In this role, you will...
1. STRATEGY & CONTENT CREATION
Content Strategy:
- Collaborate to develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy.
- Create and maintain a content calendar to ensure timely updates and promotions.
- Create inclusive content that reflects the diversity of the museum's audience and need for accessibility.
Content Creation and Curation:
- Create and curate engaging and informative content for the museum's website, including exhibition details, artist profiles, and educational resources.
- Ensure that all content aligns with the museum's brand, tone, and mission.
SEO Optimization:
- Utilize SEO best practices to optimize content for search engines and enhance the museum's online visibility.
- Conduct keyword research and implement SEO strategies as needed.
User Experience (UX) Enhancement:
- Implement best practices for accessibility and mobile responsiveness.
2. PROJECT MANAGEMENT & COLLABORATION
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, curatorial, and education departments.
- Communicate content requirements and updates to relevant stakeholders.
Project Management:
- Manage multiple content projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Coordinate with external vendors or agencies for specific content-related projects.
Multimedia Integration:
- Coordinate with multimedia teams to incorporate images, videos, and other interactive elements into the website.
- Ensure multimedia content enhances the overall visitor experience.
- Integrate website content with social media platforms to enhance online visibility.
3. ANALYTICS & REPORTING
- Use analytics tools to track website performance and user engagement.
- Provide regular reports and insights to inform content decisions and improvements.
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience that demonstrates abilities in website management and light front end website development.
- Proven experience as a Website Content Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for detail.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML.
- Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with web analytics tools.
- Experience with multimedia content creation and integration.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, as needed for website support.
Preferred:
- Multimedia Content Creation: Ability to produce and edit a variety of content types, including written articles, videos, podcasts, and photographic imagery, ensuring a rich and varied content mix that appeals to a broad audience.
- Editorial Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of brand voice and storytelling.
- Innovative Thinking: A creative and innovative approach to content creation and distribution, leveraging new technologies and platforms to enhance audience engagement and interaction.
