Stanley Consultants is seeking a Civil Engineer-In-Training to join our Federal group in our Minneapolis, MN or Muscatine, IA location.

This position will perform civil engineering related design tasks for building site, roadway, airfield projects and other infrastructure improvements. Tasks include technical analysis, plan production, and specification preparation. The successful candidate will exercise judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make design decisions and modifications. The EIT will be accountable to a Task or Project Lead/Manager for project tasks. Work will be primarily on projects for Department of Defense or other federal clients from a variety of branches and districts. Work will involve domestic and international standards. Work may occasionally be on local projects for state departments of transportation, municipalities, or private clients.

Job responsibilities:

  • Assist with engineering tasks such as collection and analysis of data
  • Prepare designs & calculations in support of senior engineers for aircraft aprons, taxiways, runways, building sites, parking lots, & other infrastructure projects
  • Perform quantity estimates
  • Work in collaboration with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural, and CAD) to support project managers in producing plans and specifications
  • Assist with development of reports, specifications and plans projects including drafting & design
  • Assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific project tasks
  • Occasional local, domestic, and international travel for project purposes. International travel may be approximately 1-2-week durations

Skills, education and experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil engineering from an accredited four-year college or university required
  • Must be able to work in a multi-office, multi-discipline team environment
  • Must possess strong virtual communications skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • The following skills/experience is preferred, but not required:
    • Experience in AutoCAD based drawing production tasks
    • AutoCAD Civil 3D grading modeling
    • AutoCAD Civil 3D pipe network modeling
    • Pavement Design
    • Pavement Evaluation
    • Experience with site and/or land development
    • Familiarity with Federal/DOD Clients
    • Experience with Military Airfield and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) criteria

Certifications:

Must have, or be able to obtain, an Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer-in-training certification.

Base Compensation: $61,100 - $78,600
