Overview:

The Senior Manager of Analytics and Audience Development will provide strategic guidance to Allure's brand leadership and editorial teams through in-depth reporting to help achieve revenue and traffic goals. They will provide regular reporting and insights to various levels of business stakeholders, and will work across teams to apply those insights with the goal of deepening Allure's relationship with our audiences. This role will also be responsible for analyzing and managing our daily email newsletter, as well as pitching in on social, partnerships, and other business areas when necessary.

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, creative self-starter who can both provide analysis and recommendations, as well as execute on those strategies when needed. They should have a demonstrated track-record of helping build and manage massive online audiences and will be adept with the strategies and tactics that increase audience engagement. They should be highly organized, thorough, and quantitative, but also nimble and creative, with the ability to think critically and influence the decision-making process through data and testing. We are looking for a rising star who is curious, forward-thinking, and entrepreneurial.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with audience development and brand stakeholders to develop and execute data-driven audience growth plans across all content distribution platforms, including social, email, and search.

  • Manage daily newsletter via consistent campaign analysis and testing.This includes acquisition strategy and revenue alignment with our consumer and commercial revenue teams.

  • Measure the performance of audience development initiatives and optimize according to goals.

  • Provide analytical guidance on paid marketing campaigns, and assist with management when needed.

  • Internalize the site's analytics and excel at identifying and interpreting patterns in user behavior on Allure.com

  • Identify new growth opportunities and best practices based on emerging digital trends, competitive business intelligence, and consumer insights. Provide insight that will grow traffic to the website and foster audience engagement and loyalty and develop approaches to quantify and manage audience risk.

  • Work closely with digital leadership to determine and meet growth KPIs and ensure they align with consumer and commercial revenue strategy.

  • Partner closely with Digital Editorial to help them understand audiences across all distribution sources, including Social, Newsletter, and Search. Create and maintain a reporting system to deliver daily, weekly and monthly insights on editorial performance, content analytics, and traffic trends to the Digital Editorial team and other key stakeholders.

  • Partner closely with Commerce Editorial to optimize revenue and shopping audience engagement across channels, including Social, Newsletter, and Search. Own and iterate upon a reporting system to deliver weekly and monthly insights on commerce performance, content analytics, and traffic trends via regular presentation of the data to the Commerce Editorial team and other key stakeholders, particularly during tentpole and shopping-heavy periods

  • Work cross-functionally with Allure's editorial, commerce, publishers, product development, consumer marketing, and sales & marketing groups to identify opportunities to maximize customer engagement & monetization.

  • Educate brand teams to retrieve and interpret recurring reports, build dashboards, and perform simple analyses.

  • Create and execute newsletter strategy (including building newsletter and reporting on performance)

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Required Skills:

  • 4-6 years of experience in digital analytics at a media company or digital advertising agency with a thorough understanding of online business models and strategies.

  • Hands-on experience with major analytics tools such as Omniture, Google Analytics, Parsely, etc.

  • Experience managing, analyzing and building email campaigns.

  • Exposure to paid marketing campaigns-preferably with paid social campaign management experience.

  • Entrepreneurial, digitally savvy, creative, and experimental approach to problem-solving, with exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to clearly articulate and present initiatives to editorial and technical teams alike, and adept at communicating with and managing a variety of stakeholders across teams.

  • SQL/Python knowledge and Snowplow experience is a plus.

The expected base salary range for this position is from $105,000-$130,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.


For bonus-eligible roles only: In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
