Transition to Nursing Practice Program for New Graduate RN's

The Transition to Nursing Practice (TNP) Program at Boston Children's Hospital is nationally accredited by the ANCC PTAP (American Nurses Credentialing Center Practice Transition Accreditation Program) as a nurse residency program designed for newly licensed RNs.

The program is 12 months in length and is focused on the transition from student to professional nurse. The program runs five times per year with start dates in March, May, August, September, and November. Newly licensed nurses are hired directly into a practice-setting by a hiring manager.

The TNP Program combines classroom education and support along with precepted shifts to launch a newly licensed nurse's career and successfully guide them down a path that will help them grow and develop into an independent, competent pediatric nurse.

  • Providing care for inpatient pediatric patients of all ages in an acute care setting.
