Position Summary | This position serves 50% as Director of the Teaching & Learning Resource center and the SELF Design Studio and 50% as Instructional Staff for the M.L.I.S. program in the Information, Library & Research Sciences Department. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Services, the Director of the TRC leads a team providing outstanding service to UNCG students, faculty, staff, and the community. The Director of the TRC is responsible for the development of the department collections; oversight of public and technical services; staff supervision, consisting of one part time librarian, one fulltime support staff and a variety of Graduate Assistant and undergraduate student workers; facilities planning; education reference and instruction; campus and community outreach; acting as a liaison with the College of Education; university, school, department, and professional committees. This is a 12-month Exempt from the Human Resources Act (EHRA) staff position. Responsibilities in the department include assisting with program coordination, teaching school library courses, supervising school library practica and capstone field experiences and helping to advance the goals of the program through recruiting, marketing and outreach. |
