Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Requires speaking and interaction with people (work with internal and external parties)
  • Provide on-site support before and during events to address any issues that may arise
  • Ensure all necessary resources are organized and available for each event
  • Oversee event logistics, including cleanliness, setup, tear down
  • Uses judgment to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day technical problems
  • Coordinate with catering and other vendors (florist, DJs, etc.) as needed to ensure successful event
  • Utilize student staff scheduling system (When to Work)
  • Organize Hasselmann Alumni House setup/tear down schedules, track hours, and rental equipment
  • Maintain event facilities (Havener Center/Innovation Lab) and storage areas are in a clean and organized manner
  • Ensures that all applicable safety standards are followed; adapts or modifies work methods to reduce hazards
  • Light custodial duties as needed (trash removal, clean tables/chairs, vacuum)
  • Minimal maintenance (as assigned)
  • Resource inventory management
  • Guide and assist with student staff training, resources, technical support, customer service, policies, and procedures
  • Serve as staff liaison to manager of operations and/or director of Events and Hospitality Management
  • Contribute creative ideas to enhance the guests' experience and overall event success
  • Conduct post-event survey
  • Behaves and communicates in a manner that promotes and fosters a culture of teamwork and collaboration within our department (co-workers, supervisors/directors, staff employees, student staff, guests, etc.)
  • May be required to perform tasks at varying heights (use step stools, climb ladders, etc.)
  • Duties could require standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching for extended periods of time (possibly 75% or more of the workday may be standing on feet)
  • Indoor open office setting, shared by multiple staff members
  • Adhere to all dress codes, including closed-toed shoes
  • Perform other duties as assigned to accomplish department's goals
Shift

Monday - Friday
(On call: weekends)
9 AM - 5:30 PM

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.00/hour.


Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
