Wausau Window and Wall Systems

PAY

$20.2/hour + $2.00/hour shift premium

HOURS

Monday-Thursday, 3:00pm to 1:30am

Friday, overtime as needed (5 or 10 hours)

POSITION SUMMARY

Support the Materials team by unloading and moving extrusions, brake metal, steel and various other products to the appropriate areas in the facility for storage or production use.

POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Unload extrusions, and various other products.
  • Separate materials for routing internally.
  • Complete required computer transactions and paperwork, including updating location tracker an filing of sorting, staging paperwork
  • Keep saw tables loaded with extrusions to cut.
  • Load wooden crates and other lumber in trailer for disposal.
  • Round up empty carts, skids and stage for production use.
  • Prepare materials going out for finishing.
  • Recycle paper, cardboard, and any other materials as required by company policy.
  • Pull extrusions in the facility using the various resources.
  • Maintain and organize scrap and other dumping areas both inside and outside of the building.
  • Empty scrap bins and dispose/recycle accordingly.
  • Move incoming and outgoing materials in machining, fab and glazing when requested.
  • Pick up and drop off material with the company vehicle if requested.
  • Consistently monitor and maintain quality performance.
  • Position is required to flex into production positions requiring limited CTO and/or facilities periodically during shift. Perform other duties as assigned and assist in other departments as required.
  • Run the Tugger.
  • Able and willing to be directed by others in a team concept.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SKILL and KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Certified in operating various material handling equipment: forklift, combilift and overhead cranes.
  • Communicate effectively in a verbal and a written manner.
  • Basic computer proficiency and accuracy for time/labor entry.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Work quickly and accurately.
  • General knowledge of window systems, products and processes preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to stand, reach, bend, talk, hear and move about the facility. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Tools and Equipment Used

PPE (Safety glasses, Protective gloves, Safety Shoes, Single Use Ear Plugs), materials cart, scrap bin, rack lift, combi lift, propane tank.
