Job Description

We are seeking an experienced senior-level Data Warehousing Specialist to support the development and sustainment of a web-based application for our Defense Health Agency customer.

As a Data Warehousing Specialist, you will:

  • Work as a member of the Business Objects (BO) development team developing complex BO universes and reports.

A week in the life of a Data Warehousing Specialist:

  • Lead the development of BO universes that will meet or exceed business requirements that includes designing and implementing BO universes to the system specifications, conducting unit testing, troubleshooting issues, documenting and producing proposals to resolve issues
  • Coordinate with the project managers/scrum masters/team leads on the status of all development tasks and any risks/issues/impediments
  • Work with Business Analysts to help shape requirements
  • Perform mock-ups and/or proof of concepts as needed
  • Perform data analysis and troubleshoot issues
  • Support the setup and configuration of the business objects environment
  • Support universe creation and development
  • Troubleshoot reporting issues in various environments
  • Evaluate new coding techniques, tools, modules, and implementation as appropriate
  • Lead and mentor entry and mid-level developers
  • Consult on requirements elicitation and definition
  • Design software solutions per systems requirements
  • Code software solutions per designs
  • Code reviews, unit test, and integrate coded modules
  • Assist users in resolving issues by providing guidance and training
  • Support testing and remediate defects
  • Support users through troubleshooting and analysis of production logs and data
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or closely related field
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and undergo a background check for Public Trust
  • 5-8+ years of relevant work experience in designing, building, and maintaining data warehouses
  • Hands-on experience with data warehousing technologies and tools, including ETL tools, SQL databases, and data modeling techniques
  • Knowledge of programming languages, such as SQL and Java, and business objects technology and programming
  • Experience developing test scripts and conducting tests for upgrades and patches
  • Experience working with cross-functional project teams using Agile or Scrum methodology
  • Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a remote work environment

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $110,000 - 130,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
