We are seeking a Lead Associate, Finance Management. In this role, you will be responsible for providing budget holder financial support including: award management, sub-award management, budgeting, financial analysis, accounting, and expense allocation guidance for a specified region of states. You will serve as the financial point of contact for all financial management within your states and provide additional support in backstopping the other Lead Associates with analysis and allocations.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Sub-award Management (45%)

  • Supports a portfolio of site and community sub-award partners
  • Collaborate with Education, Protection and Resilience finance team to create efficiencies in the sub-award process
  • Maintain comprehensive sub-award tracking for your portfolio to support program team in decision making for sub-award partners
  • Follow the sub-award management manual throughout the entire sub-award process from start to close out.

Award Management (35%)

  • Work with Advisor - Award Management and Advisors to proactively identify funding gaps and provide strategic guidance to fundraising teams to ensure our funding is aligned with our strategy
  • Prepare and review donor budget proposals within your portfolio
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and established donor requirements
  • Prepare donor reports for awards within your portfolio and maintain donor relationships

Financial Budgeting and Analysis (20%)

  • Assist the State Director on the annual planning and budgeting process for state budgets within your portfolio
  • Conduct regular analysis of financial data, and prepare monthly financial performance reports including, but not limited to, budget vs. actual, forecast expenses, and trends
  • Provide financial and strategic guidance to state program team(s), identifying and addressing financial risks
  • Conduct budget reviews to ensure efficient use of resources and advise budget holders on maximizing funds
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis reports as requested
  • Assist with budget preparation and expense tracking as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel and demonstrated ability to apply creative ideas for data compilations.
  • Demonstrated ability to support multiple stakeholders by providing sound financial data and guidance
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff at various levels, and to demonstrate the importance of upholding financial policies and procedures
  • Proven in-depth understanding and problem-solving approach to financial management as it relates to complex, multifunctional budgets.
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 3-Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Up to $64,000/year

The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available ). Employee may be eligible for an incentive program.
