Type: Non-exempt (hourly)

Compensation: $26.44 - $37.98 per hour. (Skookum's compensation strategy is to position new employees between the minimum and midpoint of this range, depending on qualifications and experience.)

Work Schedule: This is part-time position with summer days to be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between the hours of 7:30am - 4:00pm (flexibility required, as hours may vary.) The remaining schedule will be part time, not to exceed 30 hours in a work week. With the potential to increase to full time hours in fall, depending on business needs.

As a Pre-Employment Transition Services Coordinator, you'll... Support the Spokane CES Manager as they lead and oversee the DVR Pre-Employment Transition (PreETS) staff. Has a high attention to detail and organizational skills to oversee the DVR PreETS program standard operating procedures, best practices, curriculum, billing process, contract compliance, and DVR PreETS client documentation in the information management systems in the CES Department's multiple locations with budgeted revenue of $400,000 to $600,000. Fosters purposeful relationships with DVR PreETS schools in Spokane and be the primary point of contact for administrative level needs and client referrals. The position also provides data driven metrics and tracking to support the CES Managers as they manage & develop DVR PreETS budget, staff and clients. Must have excellent time management, problem-solving, and networking skills along with possessing professional level written and oral communication skills. Be self-directed, with the ability to work independently and in a team. Must be effective in the use of technology and systematically documenting in a detailed manner.

In addition, teach classes during the week and use classroom learning principles to train, coach, and mentor a group of clients toward making progress with their pre-employment goals. Use creative thinking skills to develop relationships with local academic partners as well as with local business owners and hiring managers.

  • Represent Skookum as the Community Employment Services (CES) Department's primary contact to DVR Pre-ETS and contracted schools

  • Own the department's outreach & recruiting efforts that include but not limited to participating in open houses, field prospective client calls, and fostering relationships with schools and district personnel

  • Manage and maintain internal and external documentation for clients and stakeholder partners as it pertains to DVR Pre-ETS

  • Establish new DVR Pre-ETS client records in the information management system

  • Manage monthly billing for DVR Pre-ETS to ensure accurate and quality reporting

  • Utilize information management system to ensure accurate, efficient, compliant, and consistent documentation for DVR Pre-ETS

  • Manage the quality assurance and audit process for DVR Pre-ETS to ensure all department services and activities conform to contract, company, and CARF standards

  • Work with individuals with disabilities ages 14-21 to discover their interests for employment and prepare them for employment

  • Oversee with curriculum development and design of training materials for the DVR PreETS service line

  • Oversee preparing content for classes and other events

  • Network with local businesses to create and develop work-based learning activities and work-based learning experiences

  • Conduct workplace readiness and self-advocacy trainings, work-based learning activities, and work-based learning experiences

  • Self-manage, create your own schedule, and work independently

  • Utilize the information management system to maintain client files, case notes and billings in compliance with contract and program guidelines

  • Perform duties in compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations and guidelines governing equal employment opportunity and nondiscrimination in the workplace

  • Prepare for and participate in external and internal audits

  • Establish and maintain effective, positive relationships with clients, employers, internal departments, referral sources, external agencies, and the public

  • Maintain confidentiality of all client information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and program rules

  • Operate Skookum provided vehicles or personal vehicle for job duties

  • Maintain professionalism when conducting business on behalf of Skookum

  • Competency with technology used to provide services remotely and ability to instruct clients on how to use technology to engage in services

  • Knowledge of community resources to refer clients to as needed

  • Attend continuing education trainings to stay current with trends in mental health and disability topics

  • Provide coverage for other team members as needed

  • Carry a small caseload of classes and clients if needed during clients surge. Assist CES DVR PreETS staff with their caseloads as needed

  • Attend staff meetings and one-on-one mentoring meetings with CES Manager

  • Attend and represent Skookum at various networking events and job fairs as it pertains to DVR PreETS clients

  • Possible attendance of conference for continuing education and networking at the discretion of the CES Manager

  • Possible travel to other Skookum sites

Summary of desired skills and experience for the Skookum Pre-Employment Transition Services Coordinator:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Education, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field is preferred

  • 2 - 5 years of previous pre-ETS specific operations management experience and/or related role is preferred

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
