Job Description

Nokia of America Corporation, Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Multiple Positions), Sunnyvale, CA.

SALARY RANGE: $183,726 - $246,334 per year

WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)


Responsible for all aspects of the life cycle of the software feature including requirements review, test planning, test execution and debugging of the failures, and test automation. Create sophisticated test plans to identify software problems and causes and verify conformance of feature functionality against requirements specifications. Execute feature test cases by simulating complex scenarios to identify, debug and track defects and recommend corrective action. Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents created and documented by Product Managers and provide feedback. Interact with Software, Hardware, Firmware, Product Management, Documentation, and Customer Support teams. Provide estimation and prioritization of execution of test cases and coordinate test activities. Design and develop scripts and new libraries to automate the execution and verification of features. Add automation scripts into regression repository and common test automation libraries to maintain quality of features across different builds for future releases. #LI-DNI


JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: Scripting and Automation using Tcl or Python; Writing detailed test plans, identifying tools requirements, documenting failure scenarios, and isolating problems; Networking protocols including TCP, UDP, IP, and DHCP; Routing protocols: BGP and OSPF; Virtualization platforms: OpenStack, Azure, and AWS; Linux Systems; Wireshark; and Analyzing messages sent and received between network elements and debug issues.
