Symetra has a superb opportunity to join our team as a Sr Manager, Software Quality Assurance!

About the role

As the Sr Manager, Software Quality Assurance you will take our testing processes, approach and tooling to the next level. You'll apply industry standard practices to overhaul and optimize our current approach, improve quality and effectiveness, reduce TTM and build a data/metrics driven communication approach both within and outside of the team.

What you will do
  • Understand relevant business needs and apply it to solving QA problems.
  • Understand QA related industry trends and provide technical direction to the team.
  • Develop the QA vision, strategy, roadmap and associated tooling. Create consensus across the organization.
  • Identify and implement ongoing improvement initiatives as it relates to process, tooling, environments, cadence, metrics etc.
  • Drive QA related PI planning activities across all relevant teams.
  • Guide the team in test planning and estimating and help revise to meet changing requirements.
  • Manage the team to deliver on schedule.
  • Coordinate testing activities and work across multiple teams. Help resolve conflicts, dependencies, technical tradeoffs and ensure shared understanding of priorities and sequencing across all teams.
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect scope, schedule and quality
  • Develop a comprehensive set of metrics to track and communicate progress on all aspects of the QA ecosystem.

Compensation

Salary Range: $121,300 - $202,200 plus eligibility for annual bonus program.

Who you are
  • 10+ years of IT experience in systems analysis or development
  • 5+ years of experience in a QA manager position
  • Expert knowledge of test engineering processes and methodologies, including test planning, scenario and case management, automation frameworks and risk-based testing principals
  • Detailed knowledge of the Agile SDLC
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute test improvement programs
  • Solid understanding of programming/scripting languages
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring skills combined with flexibility working in a dynamic, fast moving product development environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead strong QA teams
