Interventional Cardiologists

Job Duties: Diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases and disorders using catheter-based procedures such as angioplasty and stenting. Develop a plan of care for each patient, including complete medical history, physician examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral. Stress the importance of preventative health care measures. Use all available resources in diagnosis and treatment in an appropriate and cost-efficient manner. Confer with consulting physicians, nurses, patients and patients' families concerning treatment and care of patients. Supervise and provide interpretation of cardiovascular diagnostic services. Provide on-call coverage on an equal rotation basis with practice peers. Refer those cases that require specialist services while maintaining responsibility to assure that continuity of care is provided. Weekly travel to worksites in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.

Education Required: M.D. or D.O.

Other Requirements:

  • License to practice medicine in Louisiana.
  • Completion of a fellowship in cardiovascular disease.
  • Completion of a fellowship in interventional cardiology.
