https://ualr.edu/chemistry/Summary of Job Duties:The School of Physical Sciences, Chemistry Program is seeking to hire an Extra Help Assistant/Office Assistant. This position is responsible for assisting the Chemistry Coordinator in providing support for the faculty, staff, and students. In this role, the employee is required to collaborate with units within the school, college, and the university. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma;

  • Experience working in an office setting.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Program Coordinator and Administrative Analyst in managing the business affairs of the Chemistry program;

  • Assist in helping faculty, staff, students, and guests;

  • Answer telephone, pick up and distribute mail;

  • Assist Administrative Analyst in maintaining program records;

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of computers and software applications;

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles;

  • Regular contact with Chemistry faculty, staff, students, other campus departments, organizations, and the public;

  • Experience with Google Suites, and Microsoft Suite;

  • Strong communication, and writing skills;

  • Ability to work as a team member;

  • Ability to follow directions;

  • Ability to multitask and manage your time;

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
