The Operations Manager is a key contributor within Donaldson's growing Life Sciences organization, responsible for developing and executing the functional and strategic projects that transform the manufacturing operations. This individual will be a part of a growing area of the company and comfortable with an adapting, transforming area. This role will work out of our Bloomington, MN location.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead and transform the manufacturing processes into a world-class, high-performing manufacturing operation capable of long-term, reliable production

  • Attract and develop talent to build a scalable organization supporting an aggressive growth

  • Prepares operational schedule and coordinates facility design and validation, manufacturing process development, process validation, and manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.

  • Directs and coordinates the engineering work to ensure that the facility, equipment, and process design is delivered and validated per customer specifications within the planned budget and timelines.

  • Assure compliance with all applicable quality, safety and regulatory standards (FDA, BSI,GMP)

  • Plans production operations, establishes priorities and sequences for developing, validating, and manufacturing products in concurrence with business needs.

  • Ensures programs are maintained, the plant is compliant with standards, and the appropriate training is effectively given to all employees.

  • Develops and revises standard operational procedures and observes employees to ensure compliance.

  • Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.

  • Develops and monitors plant's operational budget.

  • Assists employees and managers in solving work-related problems. Evaluates the issue and meets with managers and human resources to determine the most effective remediation technique.

  • Develops and works with supervisors in all areas such as employee relations, problem solving, setting and achieving goals, manufacturing processes, scheduling, disciplinary action, terminations, equipment problems, etc.


TRAVEL: Up to 25%

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical degree

  • 5+ years of experience in process development or manufacturing in industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology)

  • 2+ years of management experience

  • Experience leading Lean/Six Sigma projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management experience on complex projects

  • Working experience in ERP systems, preferably Oracle

  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification(s)
