Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

This position will have multiple start times --0600, 0800, 1000 and 1300--according to business needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • RN License issued by the State of California.
  • BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • PALS (must be obtained during 1st year of employment for new employees).
  • Must have at least one (1) year of recent PACU or acute care ICU, PICU, NICU or ER nursing experience.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN.
  • CPAN and/or CAPA.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Per diem shift requirement is an average of 1 shift per week. Must be available 1 weekend On Call per Month, 2 Weeknight Call Shifts per Month and 1 Major and 1 Minor holiday call shift. This is subject to change based on department needs.
  • Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $170,485 - $170,485 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $81.65 - $81.65

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
