As Saab continues to grow the advanced manufacturing facility in West Lafayette, IN, we are seeking a Quality Inspection Supervisor to lead and direct the activities of the Quality Inspectors working to deliver the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force's new military trainer, the T-7A Red Hawk.

We are looking for a driven leader that is passionate about teamwork, accountability and creating value in our production system. We are looking for a candidate to work closely with the Quality Manager and the Quality Inspectors to accomplish the goals set for the Quality Team and overall organization.
Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise and lead quality inspectors and receiving Inspectors in daily production activities.

  • Clearly communicate daily production plans to the team, to coordinate inspection plan

  • Report out on quality inspection results

  • Consistently demonstrate and uphold our Company values: Trust, Drive, Expertise and Support

  • Champion a positive and high-performance work culture

  • Build cross-functional relationships to remove process obstacles and increase efficiencies forthe inspection team

  • Provide training and coaching to team members to improve performance

  • Hold employees accountable to expectations, established work processes and work rules

  • Empower work teams to offer suggestions on how to best impact quality KPI's and overallbusiness goals

  • Monitor quality of inspections and support to operations, to consistently deliver exceptionalcustomer service

  • Drive continuous improvement action plans

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the company policy and local work rules, including safetyand FOD prevention

  • Adhere to the Saab 6S program, maintaining a clean environment at all times

  • Communicate concisely and effectively with management, team members and supporting departments

  • Manage and approve work hours for inspection team on daily basis

  • Other tasks as assigned to support operation

Compensation Range: $69,100 - $84,600

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:
  • High school degree or GED required

  • Technical degree or certification in the field of aviation is preferred

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in aeronautical, structural assembly or manufacturing environment is required

  • 2+ years of proven supervisory/ people leadership experience

  • AS or BS degree in advanced manufacturing, aeronautics or a related technical field is preferred

  • Experience working with ISO standards and quality requirements is required. Experience in an AS9100 environment is desirable

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) is required

  • Experience using MES and ERP systems is a strong plus

  • Proven teamwork and solution-driven leadership skills

  • Excellent communication skills

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
