Job Description
Our employee-owned and multi-disciplined team of engineering and design professionals is looking for a Professional Civil Engineer to manage Utilities Coordination!

TKDA's roadway/utilities team optimizes utility planning, design, and construction activities to control costs and mitigate risks to the project and the public.

As a member of our team, you will work alongside other Civil, Electrical, Structural and Construction professionals to provide expertise and management within a variety of multi-discipline projects.

In this role you will be responsible for design and coordination of private and public utilities within transportation and municipal projects. You will manage the various components of utility infrastructure design, location verification, relocation planning and correspondence with stakeholders throughout the project life cycle. There will be an element of field work (around 10% a year) when needed to support ongoing projects. Any travel would be site visits within the Minneapolis - Saint Paul metro area.

Position is hybrid: 3 days in office / 2 days WFH
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota.
  • 5 -10 years of related experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of the project development process including coordination with other disciplines during design and construction.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies, and knowledge of the permit application process with FEMA, DOT, DNR, and state / local government entities.
  • Experience in utilities coordination related to design, location verification and relocation.
  • Experience and understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D used to develop concept plans, grading plans, and designs.
  • Ability to apply effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills when developing proposals, negotiating project contracts, preparing technical reports, leading project team meetings, and delivering client presentations.
  • Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) reviews for civil projects.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Advantageous Qualifications
  • Professional registration in additional states with a preference of Wisconsin, South Dakota, and Iowa.
  • Prior management and design experience for private utilities.
