We are currently looking for a Cash Applications Specialist who craves a role encompassing a diverse range of responsibilities that will support their ongoing growth and development, spanning from day-to-day operations to exciting projects and initiatives.


The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for all cash posting and balancing of payments for Mansfield Oil Company.

Responsibilities

Daily Cash Reconciliation and Posting:

  • Oversee the daily processing and posting of cash receipts to customer accounts, including payments made by credit card, lockbox, ACH/Wire
  • Utilize third party systems to obtain remittance details for payments including credit cards
  • Processes inquiries and research requests received by the collections team, and other internal teams, in order to resolve customer account discrepancies and/or questions
  • Reconcile payments if discrepancies occur within remittance information
  • Maintain archive for deposit details
  • Maintain mailbox for matching of zero balance debit and credit entries
  • Provide customer support, researching and resolving customer inquiries, cash application questions and credit card issues.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure department and company policies, procedures, and internal controls are properly followed
  • Meet daily deadlines for cash posting
  • Act as a backup for others as needed
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to solution any issues that arise
  • Assist with month end accounts receivable processes as needed
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and some ability to analyze, explain, and draw logical conclusions from operational, financial business data
  • Perform various other duties and projects as assigned
  • Meet performance metric goals established by management
  • Clear and concise communication with Treasury and banking vendors as needed
  • Proactive approach in resolution of unapplied cash

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • High School diploma required

Knowledge & Experience

  • 3+ years of cash applications or related banking experience required
  • Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills at the beginner to intermediate level
  • Intermediate computer skills and system skills
  • Customer service experience preferred - 2+ years
  • 1+ years accounting experience preferred
  • Excellent keyboarding skills including 10-key (10,000 key stroke minimum)

Work Environment

  • Hybrid remote (2 days) and on-site (3 days) 40-hour work week once training is completed
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components
