Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Quality Assurance Tester to join our team in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience performing manual testing, writing manual and automation test scripts, and work on Agile projects to continuously release application software. To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed; meet the education and work experience required; and must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Other duties, in addition to the below, may be assigned as necessary to meet business needs.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship or legal permanent resident.
  • Must be able to obtain and sustain a Public Trust clearance after employment.
  • Must have at least 5 yrs. of working experience in a Quality Assurance role performing manual and automation testing and managing testing documentation for complex applications.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Analyze functional requirements/User stories and translate requirements into written test cases/scripts.
  • Perform manual and automated testing of complex software applications or IT systems in an Agile environment.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed test summary reports, highlighting key findings, test coverage, and metrics.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in JavaScript and experience with various automation frameworks, such as Microsoft Playwright.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues, both in manual and automated testing contexts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to maintain effective communication with team members through daily stand-up meetings, comprehensive test reports, and consistent status updates.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools and environments, such as Azure DevOps, TFS, and GIT.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in developing automated tests using frameworks like Playwright.
  • Knowledge of API testing principles and familiarity with industry-standard tools.
  • Understanding of performance and load testing methodologies for software automation.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience in supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), coordinating with end users, and facilitating UAT activities.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
  • Awareness of accessibility and compliance testing, particularly in relation to Section 508 requirements.
