Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking an Avionics / Subsystem Engineer to join our team supporting the VC-258 Operating Location (OL) in San Antonio, TX, a detachment of the 418th Flight Test Squadron of the Air Force Test Center.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to plan, execute and report on ground and flight test across a range of systems/subsystems. This position requires an active TS clearance with additional eligibility.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

* Author and Review test plans as responsible / project engineer
* Author Safety Plans as Project Safety Lead
* Participate in test planning working groups
* Determine assets and test locations/ranges required for testing
* Participate in test briefings and debriefings as system knowledgeable engineer
* Monitor and provide inputs to real-time flight test execution as a non-rated crew member aboard the test aircraft
* Review and analyze data attained during flight test
* Report on flight test results


Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum of 4 years of related engineering experience
  • Experience with subsystem testing, military communications and IFF testing
  • experience working with military communications and IFF equipment
  • Ability to attain FAA Class 2 medical certificate

Qualifications Desired:

  • Developmental test and/or Operational test experience
  • Previous experience as a qualified control room aircraft and/or ground test member
  • Prior aircrew or general aviation experience
  • Experience on cross functional teams comprised of prime and sub-contractor flight test and discipline engineering program office management and technicians to successfully execute flight test

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of science degree in engineering with a minimum of 4 years related engineering experience
  • Master of science degree with a minimum of 2 years related engineering experience

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to attain advanced access.
