Student Employment Specialist
The Student Employment Specialist position supports colleges and departments who are hiring undergraduate and graduate students on-campus at the University of Minnesota. Primary responsibilities include supporting on-campus and off-campus work-study programs, advising on student employment policies and recruitment strategies, and planning student employment programs and events for the Twin Cities campus. This role also provides back-up for the graduate assistant employment office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Graduate Assistant Employment - Supporting colleges and departments hiring graduate assistants at the University of Minnesota. (50%)
    • Administering graduate assistant tuition benefits and related tuition waivers. (25%)
    • Consultation and advising for graduate assistant employment, related policies, and best practices. (15%)
    • Analyzing data and resolving common issues. (10%)
  • Undergraduate Student Employment - Supporting colleges and departments hiring undergraduate student workers at the University of Minnesota. (50%)
    • Support on-campus and off-campus student employees by planning and attending new student orientation sessions and student employment related job fairs. Recruiting new organizations to participate in work-study community service programs. (30%)
    • Recruiting and employment consulting for on-campus student. (20%)

**This is a hybrid position located in the Twin Cities**

**The salary range for this position is 48-52K annual depending on experience**

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree plus at least two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least 6 years.

Selection Criteria:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Project and/or event planning experience.
