Position Summary

The ANR County Extension Educator position is an exempt professional staff role within UGA Cooperative Extension responsible for the delivery of the ANR program within the assigned county. A high level of independent judgment is required to effectively carry out the essential duties of the job and the incumbent is expected to manage both ANR education delivery and Extension program administration by developing techniques and procedures as appropriate. This role works cooperatively with all Extension faculty and staff where applicable and is administratively responsible to the appropriate County Extension Coordinator and the District Extension Director.

* Maintain consistent and effective work habits to make efficient use of time and resources.
* Ability to relate effectively to all clientele (youth and adults).
* Proficiency in current word processing and data management and accounting software programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
* Exceptional organizational skills
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county, district, and state staff, local government employees, and clientele.

Physical Demands

Some degree of physical activity to conduct programs (e.g. demonstration materials, audio-video equipment, etc.)
Some standing and/or sitting for various lengths of time. Withstand various seasonal weather conditions for outside activities.
Travel to various ANR events and competitions within the state and possibly nationally.
Occasionally work extended hours (past eight hour work day and forty hour work week), including some nights and weekends

This position will help carry out the county ANR Educational Program:
Teach ANR Educational Learning programs in the classroom.
Conduct in school club meetings and deliver the prepared curriculum that meets state (Georgia Professional Standards) guidelines. Incorporate the results of program evaluations and feedback in planning future programs and techniques used in implementing programs under the direction of an ANR Agent, County Extension Coordinator, and District Program Development Coordinator ANR.

Transport or arrange for transportation of to various district and state events and if assigned, provide leadership for youth while attending these events.
Incorporate the results of program evaluations and feedback in planning future programs and techniques used in implementing programs.
Publicize programs and workshops offered in local county or nearby counties to clientele.

Duties/Responsibilities

Show high standards of professionalism in personal contacts, appearance, and work habits.
Maintain office inventory of office supplies and materials as needed to support the ANR program.
Regularly participate in staff conferences (using them for planning and evaluation of joint activities) and share ideas among all co-workers, leaders, district staff, and specialists to promote teamwork.
Utilize current research data and information on emerging issues in program development and teaching.

Identify, recruit, train, and help supervise ANR volunteers in planning, teaching, and evaluating Cooperative Extension ANR programs.

Make reports to appropriate clientele, staff members, Board of Education, Board of Commissioners, and public officials through electronic mass media (county website, internet, etc.) personal contacts and/or group meetings. Submit accurate and complete reports in a timely manner in GA Counts and the District office.

Regularly participate in staff conferences.
Process or develop adequate computer skills to enhance communication to the public and Extension.
Assist staff with day to day operations of Cooperative Extension county office by answering phone, processing mail, distributing publications, greeting visitors, filing documents, etc. (when needed)

Attends required ANR events as assigned by the ANR Agent, County Coordinator, or District Personnel

Other duties as assigned by Lead ANR Agent and County Coordinator.
