Job Description and Duties

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) of State and Federal Relations, the Legislative Associate* (SSA) performs analytical work to support the Government Relations (GR) Division's successful engagement with internal and external policy stakeholders. The Legislative Analyst is responsible for tracking and actively monitoring committee hearings, reviewing legislation, and drafting policy positions, acting as a liaison between legislative offices and the Chancellor's Office. The Legislative Associate works under the supervision of the AVC of State and Federal Relations to perform assigned analytical and research duties that inform community college systemwide policy strategy and priorities. In addition to researching legislature, this position requires frequent communication and/or interaction with institutional partners, key stakeholders, and system leadership.

Working Conditions
