The Residency Program Administrator provides leadership and supervision for the administrative staff, including defining department goals, the roles needed to fulfill them and the responsibilities of those roles. Our administrator will be responsible for making sure the residency program meets requirements for resident and medical student education, leading and managing the recruitment process for residents, and functioning as an effective and contributing member of the clinic management team.

Residency Program Administrator Overview

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead, direct and supervise the work of an administrative staff
  • Lead resident, faculty and medical student recruitment efforts
  • Ensure student, resident and faculty schedules are timely and completed accurately
  • Working closely with managers and physicians, provide expertise to help set the program's strategic direction and priorities
  • Function daily as a member of the clinic management team to support physicians and staff in meeting the needs of the patient population
  • Ensure all graduate medical education rules and regulations are met
  • Ensure timely physician licensing, credentialing, training and reimbursement
  • Monitor and tracking activities of the program for accreditation purposes
  • Project plan to implement new requirements and tracking systems
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum Associates Degree or equivalent training in administration.
  • Three to five years in the role of a supervisor of a professional staff; Knowledge of medical education and physician training requirements.
  • Administrative support in health care or academics; successfully managing multiple projects and responsibilities; managing and supervising sophisticated information in different formats and locations; working with and successfully meeting requirements established by a supervising body.
