V3 Sports is a nonprofit located in vibrant North Minneapolis, focused on elevating our community through wellness, fitness, and education! Thanks to our amazing partners, donors, and incredible community members, we have been making waves in Minneapolis, serving over a thousand families since 2007.

Our mission at V3 Sports is to elevate our community, and one of our passions is educating our community on how to swim. Every year, an unnecessary number of deaths occur due to drowning. V3 is continuing to develop aquatic programs that help people of all ages learn how to stay afloat in the water.

The V3 Center (Phase One) is almost ready to open its doors to our community! We will provide aquatics and fitness offerings, on-site childcare and a new home for the Boys and Girls Club. Our goal is to begin the Phase Two expansion (adding a 50-meter pool, basketball courts, a track, and more) at the end of 2024 and complete it in 2027.

Wages

$25.00 per hour; This position is not eligible for benefits except for the accrual of Minnesota Sick and Safe Time.

Schedule

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. This is a part-time position working 6-25 hours per week.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as V3 Sports's Aquatic Specialist provides an opportunity to lead group exercise programs in the Genesis Pool, with classes ranging from aqua aerobics to aqua cycling and beyond, and will include the following:

• Leading aquatic group fitness classes as scheduled in a 5-lane, shallow water teaching pool with starting platforms.
• Greeting and building rapport with participants.
• Setting out the appropriate equipment and assisting class participants with safe use of all equipment.
• Selecting appropriate music for each class if desired.
• Providing feedback as necessary to ensure participants are having a safe and enjoyable experience.
• Inspecting program equipment following each class and returning all equipment to its appropriate place.

Who You Are

• You are an experienced and positive team member with a passion for aquatic programming.
• You have experience leading large or small group fitness or educational sessions in an aquatic environment.
• Aquatics Certifications are not required, but preferred.
• You have competent swimming abilities. Your communication skills are strong.
• You have the ability to maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers and the public.
• You understand the importance of customer service and being professional.
• You can travel to sites within a 15-mile radius of the office.
• You have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet V3 Sports' driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit.
