HOURLY RATE: $25.80 **Eligible for quarterly bonus and overtime

Safety Coordinator

This position requires a significant knowledge of various generally recognized workplace safety, quality assurance programs and regulatory compliance. As the Safety Coordinator, you will immerse in a variety of tasks to support, reinforce, and maintain a high level of safety within the warehouse.

Daily duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Provide staff with proactive measures to identify hazards and reduce the risk of injuries
  • Assist with Hazard Assessments and preparing Accident Prevention Programs for staff.
  • Assist with conducting and leading safety committee and safety meetings
  • Develop and execute training programs and presentations for staff
  • Establish methods for improving safety performance and evaluate the probability and severity of accidents to identify where controls need to be implemented to reduce or eliminate risk.
  • Stay up to date with changing state and federal rules and regulations in the safety arena

Candidate qualities we are looking for:

  • Excellent communication skills - both speaking and listening
  • A positive attitude
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal oversight
  • Ability to problem solve and find solutions even when outside area of expertise
  • A desire to use and learn using new technology for efficiency
  • Detail orientated and organized

Qualifications:

  • Experienced in emergency response and able to maintain current First aid and CPR certificates
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Any previous experience working in safety such as any administration of occupational/industrial safety & health programs
  • Ability to learn about safety through hands on training and research
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Self-starter
  • Flexible schedule
