Financial Analyst
Rasmussen University
Online/Remote

The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts and preparing financial statements. This includes the timely completion of analysis, reporting, accounting requests associated with the Month-End/Quarter-End/Year-End close processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key role in the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational objectives, assist in developing department budgets based on actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, expense reports and other factors.
  • Review expenditures to ensure conformance to budgetary limitations and maintain records of expenses and budget balances.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in operational performance, providing actionable insights to enhance decision-making.
  • Maps and reconciles financial reports to accounting system as needed.
  • Provide analysis to management for decision making support.
  • Answer accounting and financial reporting questions by researching and interpreting data within service level agreements.
  • Maintain the highest level of ethics and confidentiality in all financial transactions.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Stay abreast of all policies & procedures as well as industry changes, best practices, and technology.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into comprehensible reports and actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced skills with MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work as a team player with a positive attitude.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years accounting experience.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
