Position Summary:

The Construction Project Manager/Instructor solicits, coordinates, and manages construction projects for participant services with a focus on planning, execution, project timelines, safety, and project budget tracking. In addition, this position is responsible for co-teaching and/or providing instructor coverage in the shop, classroom or on project sites. The Construction Project Manager/Instructor will interact with internal and external partners to deliver seamless services to individuals and ensure that positive relationships are maintained resulting in optimal employment outcomes for individuals served.

  • Construction Project Management: Network with external customers to market and solicit construction projects suitable for job training.
  • Construction Instruction: Provide demonstration, instruction, and monitors tasks tailored to individual student needs and abilities.
  • Documentation: Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation of individuals served.

Job Pay & Perks:

  • Typical starting pay range: $24.63 - $28.00

About You:

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Project management experience
  • Residential and light commercial construction experience, including knowledge of multiple facets of construction (framing, windows and doors, drywall, siding, roofing, etc.).
  • Experience with budget preparation and cost containment specific to construction projects.
  • Analytical skills around construction project strategies, as well as identifying and solving unexpected issues and delays.
  • Ability to interpret contracts and technical drawings.
  • Experience with lecture/demonstration, one-on-one instruction, online instruction, and/or hands-on training.
  • Communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using computers.
  • Ability to work well with individuals with diverse backgrounds and across cultures.
  • Planning, organizing, coordinating and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Adaptive and open to change, flexibility and multi-tasking.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check, and carry valid automobile insurance that meets GESMN's requirements for individuals who transport program participants.

Prior Experience & Education:

  • 3-5 Years of relevant experience in construction, construction project management, or other related field required.
  • Construction and/or carpentry industry certifications preferred (e.g., OSHA 10/OSHA 30 Certificate).
  • Associate degree preferred.
