Title: Trade Compliance Specialist

Location: Austin, TX or Stillwater, MN

Job Scope:

Support Diasorin's international trade operations and compliance with trade regulations by establishing and executing import and export controls, policies and procedures.Serve as point of contact for internal trade compliance inquiries and requests.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Interpret and provide guidance on the proper application of trade regulations, sanctions and programs administered by U.S. government agencies.
  • Monitor regulation changes, update procedures and notify affected departments accordingly.
  • Serve as main point of contact to various departments, corporate office and subsidiaries for U.S. Trade Compliance guidance and applicability.
  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and process improvements of the import and export compliance manuals, policies and procedures.
  • Determine BIS and OFAC licensing requirements for export shipments.
  • Interface with departments to determine and/or verify proper valuation, country of origin and marking of products.
  • Assign and manage HTS and ECCN classification for materials. Research binding rulings, maintain classification integrity in ERP system and broker database.
  • Audit entry summaries (7501, B3) by verifying correct classification, valuation, quantity, country of origin, duty, antidumping or countervailing duties, and entry type.
  • Work with Customs Brokers to resolve entry summary errors. Manage post-entry corrections to include Post Summary Corrections (PSC) where necessary. Review CBSA B2 Post-Entry Self Adjustment submissions and DAS (Detailed Adjustment Statement) for accuracy.
  • Audit electronic export information (EEI) declarations. Manage corrections of AES filings with freight forwarders or directly via AESDirect.
  • Support compliance procedures for products subject to PGA regulations: FDA / USDA / CDC / Health Canada / CFIA.
  • Audit import and export files for recordkeeping compliance.
  • Conduct freight forwarder and Customs broker performance evaluations.
  • Manage Trade Compliance functions in ERP systems.
  • Maintain valid power of attorneys and customs bonds.
  • Perform denied party screening and process export due diligence holds.
  • Approve import and export shipment requests.
  • Participate in meetings with departmental groups affected by trade compliance regulations.
  • Conduct internal audits, document findings, notify management and remedy compliance gaps.
  • Attend outside training sessions for regulatory updates and/or changes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree, Preferred
  • 1+ Years experience as Trade Compliance Analyst (or equivalent position title)
  • 1+ Year's experience with IATA/DOT dangerous good experience, Experience serving on cross-functional teams and experience in a U.S. Food Drug Administration (FDA) regulated environment

Training and Skills

  • Knowledge of import and export regulations including Title 19 CFR, Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), and OFAC Sanctions Regulations.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • SAP ECC6 and Oracle experience preferred.
  • Harmonized Tariff, Schedule B, and ECCN classification skills.
  • Knowledge and interpretation of Incoterms and international shipping documents.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and train Trade Compliance controls to internal stakeholders.
