Genesis10 is seeking a Cloud Solutions Engineer (Lead) for a contract with our client in Inver Grove Heights, MN. 70% Remote.

Job Description:
The FinOps Analyst is responsible for setting up processes and tools that will ensure visibility and action based on accurate and timely data to our business. Overall, this role requires deep cloud billing understanding, collaboration with many teams, heavy data analysis, and excellent communication skills. Success in these efforts should result in changed processes and maturing governance of cloud usage, and the work must be done continually from a positive, business-enhancing stance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Management
  • Monitor and analyze cloud-related expenses, identifying cost optimization and offset opportunities
  • Implement and maintain cost control strategies and practices
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Support the cloud monthly budget and forecast process in managing consumption, show back, and savings in collaboration with accounting, finance, and technical owners
  • Forecast cloud costs based on usage trends and project requirements
  • Ensure alignment of cloud spending with budgetary constraints
  • Resource Optimization:
  • Analyze cloud usage patterns and make recommendations for resource allocation and utilization improvements. This will include investigating and escalating anomalies and unplanned consumption spikes
  • Identify strategies to adapt resources to demand, optimizing cost and performance
  • Identify underutilized or unused resources and recommend decommissioning when appropriate
  • Data Analysis
  • Collect and analyze data related to cloud spending and usage
  • Provide insights and recommendations to reduce unnecessary spending during recurring portfolio reviews
  • Create and maintain financial reports and dashboards
  • Extract actionable insights to drive informed decision-making
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with product teams to provide insights and maintain database of executed wins
  • Build and maintain a strong partnership between IT and Finance; continuous updates shared
  • Education, mentoring, and training to raise awareness about cost optimization best practices across the organization
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on cloud services, pricing models, and industry trends
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance cost optimization efforts
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of cost-saving initiatives using key metrics defined

Required Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, computer science, or a related field
  • At least 4 years' experience in cloud DevOps, IT cloud Operations, Finance, or cloud cost management.
  • Use of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong data analytics skills that go far beyond just creating spreadsheets
  • Proven excellent communication and collaboration abilities, including leadership presentations and adjusting the communication based on your audience.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2 as they influence cloud usage
  • Certification in FinOps or relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.) is a plus. This can be agreed to be completed within the first 6 months in the role.

Compensation:
Hourly W2 pay rate $95-105
We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
