Job/Internship Description

Egan Company is seeking candidates for a Panel Shop Services Intern role located in Champlin, MN to join our Industrial Controls team! The Panel Shop Services Intern will gain knowledge and skills to support the Industrial Controls Panel Shop through various responsibilities in shipping & receiving coordination, data management, and production coordination.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and manage inbound materials, components, and supplies
  • Ensure product verification and accuracy
  • Maintain product organization in panel shop and warehouse
  • Support problem resolution pertaining to shipping errors, lost shipments, or internal picking errors
  • Coordinate shipping of small and large parcels both locally and nationally
  • Enter data into Shop Information System
  • Maintain a safe, organized, clean, and efficient work area
  • Picking and kitting of components to support production
  • Operate forklift efficiently in the shop and warehouse for material management (certification process provided)
  • Assist in 5S and Lean activities as required
  • Identify and assist in continuous process improvement measures
  • Adhere to all safety and security guidelines applicable to the shop and warehouse
  • Maintain professionalism with co-workers, customers, sub-contractors, vendors, project managers, office, and field staff
  • Work in a team environment to accomplish tasks at hand
Position Requirements
  • Pursuing or interest in pursuing a career in manufacturing, warehousing, operations management, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Completion of a High School Diploma or GED by Summer 2024.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age before June 2024.
Qualifications
  • Ability to use strapping/banding equipment and small power tools
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • High motivation level and ability to multitask
  • Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Intermediate computer skills
Working Environment
  • Performance of duties mainly in the Champlin Warehouse and Panel Shop.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds (alone) or 50 to 85 pounds with assistance (team)
