Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Chief Physician Assistant to the group at Kings County Hospital. The Hospital is part of theNYC Health + Hospitals System (NYCHHC). Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island.

Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery, the Clinical Director of Orthopedic Surgery is responsible for the planning, organizing and directing of all business and clinical activities of the Orthopedic Surgery Department.

    Organize, prioritize and allocate proper resources in order to efficiently manage Orthopedic Trauma and subspecialty programs
  • Assist with the applications for Centers of Excellence and monitor and manage compliance issues
  • Supervise and review all clinical and administrative issues
  • Precept Medial and Physician Assistant students on Orthopedic Surgery rotations
  • Monitor and gather statistical information for presentation
  • Assist with scheduling and booking of operative cases including joint arthroplasty
  • Coordination with Social Services and Case Management for inpatient discharge planning
  • Organize and prioritize time and resources for Orthopedic Trauma as it relates to the American College of Surgeons Level I certification
  • Ensures the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures in the Orthopedic Surgery Department
  • Remains current with the guidelines of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery as it relates to orthopedic trauma and joint arthroplasty registry requirements.
  • Establishes manager performance metrics and actionable and measurable improvement plans
  • Continuation of Clinical Duties assigned to Physicians' Assistants
  • Compliance with quality and safety measures dictated by The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and those of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Kings County Hospital Center.
Qualifications
  • Current licensed NYS registration certificate
  • ACLS/BLS certification
  • DEA License
  • Completion of Master's Degree for Physicians' Assistant
  • Minimum of 5 years experience required.

  • Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 + $7,500 Yearly Differential
