MMD Medical, a Velosity Company is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. This role supports Production and Engineering with fixtures and improved processes.

Essential Duties:

  • Work as a liaison with program managers, customers, manufacturing, outside vendors and secondary operations pertaining to implementation of programs in both molding and secondary operations.
  • Provide technical support and solutions to manufacturing processes.
  • Support development and design for insert molded parts and assemblies.
  • Facilitate and support facility, manufacturing and secondary operations.
  • Develop enhanced procedures and instructions, fixtures and equipment.
  • Assist in new product transfer from Program Managers to manufacturing and secondary operations. Provide training as required.
  • Develop and implement poka-yoke mistake proof improvements and correction actions, as required.
  • Contribute to purchase of new capital equipment by making recommendations and evaluating vendor proposals.
  • Use CAD software to determine tooling, equipment, and part design requirements.
  • Program and install programmable logic controllers for auxiliary equipment operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • Preferred 3-5 years experience as a manufacturing engineer in a Swiss precision machining or plastic injection molding and assembly environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering or technical operations including experience in product/engineering management; effective problem solving techniques; strong knowledge of blue print reading and familiarity with inspection equipment.

Work Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Manufacturing environment, exposure to heat, noise, dust, dirt, oil and water. Sitting, Standing, Walking, Kneeling, Bending, Reaching, Talking, Seeing, Hearing
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Licensing/Registration/Certification:

  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
