The Director, Strategy acts as head of strategy for Coloplast's Chronic Care division in North America and is responsible for developing break-through growth strategies to help the business reach its potential. S/he is also responsible for delivering strategic plans, M&A projects, Board and Investor presentations and running a PMO. To deliver these responsibilities, s/he will lead a team of (Senior) managers and analysts. Providing leadership, guidance and professional development opportunities to this team is also a key area of responsibility. This is a position of high visibility requiring collaboration with senior leaders in US and across the company, globally.

Major Areas of Accountability

Major responsibilities are described below. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead multi-year and annual strategic planning processes, ensuring alignment across teams in US, Canada and Coloplast's global headquarters
  • Drive key business insights through market analyses and research to steer the business toward biggest opportunities
  • Lead the Program Management Office (PMO) to track and assess strategy implementation progress
  • Lead execution of M&A strategies, from target selection, building business cases and conducting due diligences to developing integration plans, in partnership with Coloplast's Corporate Strategy teams
  • Mentor and develop a team of (Sr.) managers and professionals, managing work allocation, coaching, and performance evaluations
  • Build a high performing team with a proactive service-oriented mindset, whose consultation and advice are sought by the organization as it conducts activities to improve performance
  • Establish a culture that inspires team to deliver high quality work in an efficient and sustainable way
  • Act as an ambassador for the N America region, in global and external forums

Basic Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree, with an MBA or other advanced business degree required
  • 8+ years of experience in progressively expanding business development/strategy roles
  • Prior experience in medical device, medical supplies or consumer healthcare is required
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a high degree of personal integrity, compassion and savvy to foster a collaborative and partnership-based approach in delivering initiatives, with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with solid financial and general business acumen
  • Exceptional skill in building clear and compelling presentations (PPT)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong analytical mind and ability to structure complex issues
  • Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 25%
  • This individual will be required to reside in the Greater Minneapolis/St. Paul area

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with a top tier management consulting firm or investment bank is strongly preferred
