Job Description

Job Title:

Maintenance Mechanic Grain - Destrehan LA

Overview:

The candidate will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance of a grain export facility in Destrehan LA on a rotating shift basis. This will include troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic industrial equipment in the facility.

Essential Functions:

Documented prior experience and/or training as a Millwright/Mechanic to include proficiency in the following areas:

  • Must actively participate in Bunge's Employee Safety Policy
  • Maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Hand Tools
  • Power Tools
  • Measurement devices including calipers
  • Welding and cutting using a torch
  • Rigging and using cables & slings
  • Some knowledge of sheet metal layout
  • Assembly & installation of a bearing on a shaft
  • Alignment of a coupling between two inputs
  • Following written maintenance instructions
  • Working knowledge of Laser Alignment, Ultrasonic and Lubrication.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Technical or Trade School Certification preferred
  • Prior experience as a Millwright / Mechanic
  • Documented experience or training
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Overtime will be required both as part of the normal schedule and to provide coverage as needed.
