Responsibilities

Assistant Director of Admissions (Intake) - Full-Time

River Oaks Hospital, located in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, is a private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents and children. Since 1970, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma based disorders, compulsive behaviors, and eating disorders, River Oaks has provided quality treatment to service individuals suffering from mental illness, and/or addictive disorders. Situated on a 14-acre campus, services are available at all levels of care (inpatient, day or partial hospitalization, outpatient, and intensive outpatient).

The Assistant Director of Admissions provides department oversight on evening and night shift staff and operations. Provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. The Assistant Director of Admissions manages the Communications department employees and receptionist scheduling. Promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the hospital. Performs duties in accordance with the facility's mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards.

Qualifications

- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Psychology or Human Services field.

- License preferred - RN, LCSW, LMFT, or LPC licensure.

- Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population required, preferably in an inpatient setting.

- 1-2 years management experience required.
