Job Description

The Product Security Engineer within TEL's Information Security team is responsible for ensuring the security of our products throughout their lifecycle. This role involves implementing and maintaining security measures to protect our products from potential threats, vulnerabilities, and attacks. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both manufacturing processes and cybersecurity principles, along with excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct security assessments: Perform regular security assessments of our products to identify vulnerabilities and potential risks.

2. Implement security measures: Develop and implement security measures to safeguard our products from threats, including encryption, access controls, and authentication mechanisms.

3. Monitor security incidents: Monitor for security incidents and respond promptly to mitigate any potential impacts on our products.

4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with product development, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to integrate security into the product lifecycle.

5. Provide security guidance: Provide guidance and recommendations to product teams on security best practices and standards.

6. Stay updated on industry trends: Stay abreast of the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to continually enhance product security.

7. Conduct security training: Conduct training sessions to educate employees on product security practices and protocols.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience in information security, with a focus on product security within a manufacturing environment.

2. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, standards, and best practices.

3. Experience conducting security assessments and implementing security measures.

4. Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST SP 800-53, and IEC 62443.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

7. Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are a plus.

8. Software development experience and control systems architecture are a plus.


Typical Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of related experience; or Master's Degree with 2 years of related experience; or Associate's Degree with 8 years of related experience; or 12 years of experience in lieu of degree. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
