Maintenance Technician III/IV - Electrical/Mechanical (1st shift / Mon - Fri 6am - 2:30pm)

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician IV Electrical is responsible for electrical needs of the facility and production equipment. To help reduce the need for outside electrical contractors. To follow and enforce the national electrical code

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure quality & safety standards are met, report unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries per safety policy.
  • Participate in all required training and oversee work of non-licensed personnel.
  • Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction projects aligned to lean manufacturing principles.
  • Mentor developing technicians.
  • Required to do project work as needed (Panel builds, machine upgrades, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot (PLC, controls, and drives), maintain and PM all electrical equipment.
  • Make electrical/mechanical modifications, design changes, and retrofit machine controls to existing equipment.
  • Reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, prints, scope meters, power supplies and PLC logic. Constantly looking for ways to improve our processes and make them more efficient.
  • Wire all electrical circuits including control, safety, motor, and power circuits.
  • Ensure proper mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance is performed on equipment and facility items.
  • Ensure workspace is clean, safe, and organized.
  • Provide input and feedback to supervisor regarding job performance.
  • Perform special duties or assignments as required.
  • Provide needed support for reliability efforts.
  • Enter all necessary information in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).
  • Help create work instructions
  • Facility electrical support

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in controls and troubleshooting
  • Mentoring apprentice (unlicensed) electricians is a requirement
  • Required to do electrical construction as needed (Running conduit, light fixtures, power drops, etc.)
  • Machine control software programming experience and training.
  • Multiple drive (AC, DC, Servo, etc.) application and programming skills.
  • Advanced computer skills. (Windows, CAD, Microsoft office skills)
  • Multi-skilled electrical mechanical technician with advanced competency troubleshooting and supporting production equipment.
  • Proficient at internal networks and MES equipment integration.
  • Understand, troubleshoot and problem solve issues of high complexity in advanced electrical/mechanical systems (PLC, Drives, Servo, HMI, CNC, etc.)
  • Must be able to retrofit "not like for like" electrical components
  • Must be able to update a blueprint after a wiring change
  • Capable to program PLC, HMI's, Drives and Servo's for new applications
  • Be proactive assessing equipment to increase reliability and efficiency
  • Advanced understand of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, schematics, and the operation of all components
  • Able to lead and facilitate Root Cause Corrective Action and equipment reliability sessions
  • Good organization skills, communication skills, and be able to work in a team environment.
  • Maintain and foster a respectful workplace behavior
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, and able to work alone in a customer service style environment
  • Must be able to operate in a continuous improvement environment.


NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minnesota Electrical Journeyman license

SKILLS

  • Excellent leadership, communication, time management, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and self-direct activities
  • Ability to manage vital maintenance functions to maximize corporate assets
  • Advanced project management skills

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate.
