EHS Specialist - Waste Coordinator

OVERVIEW

Candidate will be part of a team that provides Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) support to laboratory R&D operations, with an emphasis on waste coordinating.

RESPONSIBILITIES
    Verify Waste Stream Profiles are active
  • Ensure waste labels are correct and accurate
  • Inspections of 90 day hazardous waste rooms
  • Aid with monthlyhazardous waste surveys
  • Manage waste findings and incidents
  • Understand and implement waste storage and handling procedures
  • Actively problem solve and trouble shoot waste logistics
  • Maintain active communication with various customer personnel
  • Assist in the disposal of hazardous waste and materials as part of laboratory clean outs
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field - Chemistry preferred
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities, develop plans to close gaps, garner management support for key initiatives, and track improvement initiatives to closure
  • Risk analysis skills: capable of hazard and risk identification, assessment, and controls; communicate risks and methods to reduce risk
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize work effectively
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to actively problem solve

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
