As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Excess Casualty business group within Aon Risk Solutions in New York City. As a Broker I, you will report directly to the Eastern Region Leader. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our New York office.

You will be working in the New York City office with a team of brokers and associate brokers. Our current hybrid model calls for a minimum of three days a week in the New York office.

The primary function is to assist Brokers on assigned accounts, handling key processes that support client's risk management programs and develop into undertaking client-facing activities related to these processes.

You will make an impact as an Broker with job responsibilities that include:

  • Accountable for routine support activities to brokers and senior brokers with defined deadlines, related to renewal strategy documents, proposals, submissions.
  • Provide benchmarking analysis related to limits and coverage terms.
  • Compiles and analyzes data and drafts assigned elements of renewal strategy plans and other presentations tailored to the needs of clients.
  • Support brokers with analysis of current risk transfer programs including coverage and cost analysis.
  • Insurance program structure planning, design and evaluation of alternatives.
  • Support brokers with data analysis for the placement of insurance.
  • With assistance from brokers, identifies, and analyzes client exposures and determines which markets to utilize, ensuring detailed evaluation of qualified companies in the marketplace.
  • Assists with the processing of policy and related documents.
  • May facilitate and/or participate in client/broker strategy meetings.
  • May send requests for quotations to the insurance carriers with opportunities to negotiate programs.
  • Assist with analysis of quotes including comparisons of program options as part of the client proposal presentation.
  • As part of a team, help educate and advise fellow team members on coverage issues, markets, and related developments.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Insurance professional with 1-3 years experience or casualty broker with experience working on Umbrella/Excess placements.
  • Will be asked to work directly with brokers to build excess casualty programs, as well as participate on new business opportunities.
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, exceptional organizational skills, ability to make and communicate difficult decisions.
  • Strong written and communication skills necessary to communicate in a professional manner with clients and the marketplace.
  • A strong team player who understands the roles and responsibilities of other Aon professionals on the team, assumes responsibility for the timely delivery of a professional work product in accordance with assigned roles, and facilitates communication among team members.
  • Promote creativity in presenting new ideas and approaches for clients or prospects; promote a positive attitude in always trying to improve a program.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $75,000 to $120,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
